2009 begins

Another year is past.
Lest Auld Acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind
Lest Auld Acquaintance be forgot
For the sake of Auld Lang Syne
I breathed a prayer to the Universe
And lit the fire
And after it was over
Felt the usual rush of sadness
As I sat in the darkness
Listening to mellow music from years gone by

New calendar
The usual ‘resolutions’
Looking over past year’s ‘must do’ list
Happy to see some things actually completed

I resolve to live life more fully
In the coming year.
